Our Why

Learning outcomes in much of the emerging world, particularly South Asia, are dismal. In Pakistan, 77% of 10-year-olds can’t read a sentence and 50 million students will leave K-12 education without the essential skills required to succeed in the 21st century. These include language proficiency, communication, critical thinking, and digital/AI literacy.

Nearly 2 million inadequately prepared graduates become teachers. With little or no access to professional development, they perpetuate a vicious cycle: poor learning outcomes, a poorly skilled workforce, and underprepared future teachers.

English proficiency is a key barrier. National policy mandates that English not only be taught as a subject but also be the medium of instruction for Math and Science. Yet, only 6% of teachers are English-proficient, and most of them serve elite, urban schools. Meanwhile, access to higher-paying jobs, white-collar careers, and global freelance and tech markets remains largely gated by English skills.

At Beaj Education, we are on a mission to democratize the skills that have historically been reserved for the privileged. Using low-cost technology and artificial intelligence, we deliver affordable, high-quality learning programs designed by world-class experts and tailored to local needs.

Our Work

At Beaj, we use AI-powered technology to make high-quality skill development accessible, personalized, and affordable for teachers and students. Our programs are created by world-class experts, backed by research, and designed for local contexts.

We began with English language proficiency and self-growth, and have since expanded to include 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, digital literacy, and STEM learning. We partner with under-resourced schools eager to innovate, delivering our programs through digital “bootcamps” over WhatsApp.

A strong network of partner schools: We work with 200+ low-cost private schools, nonprofits, and government partners to onboard students and scale impact.

As a learning organization, we use data for decision-making and generate evidence to inform not only our work, but also the broader fields of Education, EdTech, Behavioral Science, and Learning Engineering.
